My name is Grace Targonski...

I am a 18 year old girl from Stamford, CT. I have two younger siblings, Rachel and Matthew.
In December 2012, when my little brother was 9 months old he had a brain surgery to remove a cyst. It was a very difficult time for me and my family. Then, in April 2013, my aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer. I also witnessed her journey to recovery. After that, I wanted to know if children got cancer as well.

My mom and I researched about childhood cancer. We learned about the different types of cancer affecting children. We learned about the old treatments. We learned about the quality of life. We learned a lot, but most importantly and shocking... WE LEARNED THAT ISN'T ENOUGH RESEARCH DONE TO FIND BETTER TREATMENTS AND A CURE!  That's when I started to learn about groups that support and help children with cancer. I was glad to see people trying to help in their own way. I wanted to be one of those people. On April 2014, at the age of 10, I started to work towards raising awareness and collect donations to help children with cancer, and this is how Caring With Grace began.

Since then I have been busy on this quest. I witnessed the sadness and frustration of my own parents when my baby brother had a very scary diagnosis (a cyst, not a tumor. No cancer) and we didn't know if the surgery was going to help or not. I witnessed the difficult journey of my aunt fighting cancer. I don't want to see parents and families going through the suffering of loosing a child. It's painful to see a child going through the terrible journey of cancer.

CARING WITH GRACE is dedicated to bring support to pediatric cancer patients and their families in any way possible.
CARING WITH GRACE joins forces with non-profit organizations to offer children with cancer another reason to smile while fighting this disease.
CARING WITH GRACE wishes to bring encouragement and HOPE to pediatric cancer patients and their families while creating awareness.

We’d love to hear from you!

Success! Message received.
